Nintendo Entertainment System (1983)

The Nintendo Entertainment System is an 8-bit video game console that was released by Nintendo in 1983 (Japan).

Interton VC 4000 (1978-1983)

The VC 4000 is an early 8-bit cartridge-based game console released in Germany in 1978 by Interton. They stopped the production in 1983.

Vectrex (1982-1984)

The Vectrex is a vector display-based video game console that was developed by Western Technologies/Smith Engineering. Vectrex comes with a built in game, the Asteroids-like Minestorm. Two peripherals were also available for the Vectrex, a light pen and a 3D imager.
It was released in November 1982. The Vectrex exited the market in early 1984.

The Fairchild Channel F (1976-1979)

The Fairchild Channel F is a second generation game console released by Fairchild Semiconductor in August 1976. It has the distinction of being the first programmable ROM cartridge-based video game console. It was launched as the Video Entertainment System, or VES, but when Atari released their VCS the next year, Fairchild renamed its machine.

Colecovision (1982- 1984)

The ColecoVision is Coleco Industries' second generation home video game console which was released in August 1982.  The ColecoVision offered arcade-qualiry graphics and gaming style, and the means to expand the system's basic hardware.

Sega Master System (1985-1989)

The Sega Master System is a third-generation video game console that was manufactured and released by Sega in 1985 in Japan, 1986 in North America and 1987 in Europe.

Magnavox Odyssey (1972-1978)

The Magnavox Odyssey is the world's first home video game console. It was first demonstrated on May 24, 1972 and released in August of that year. The Odyssey was designed by Ralph Baer, who began around 1966 and had a working prototype finished by 1968.

Atari 2600 (1977-1991)

The Atari 2600 is a video game console released in October 1977 (North America) by Atari, Inc.
